Many of you took my poll last month,
and it was SO helpful I can't even tell you. I learned a lot about what makes you happy, and what kind of content actually brightens your day.
And a big theme I saw was: MORE BEHIND THE SCENES and MORE MOUSE
I have always been shy about sharing behind the scenes and inviting people in. I'm an introvert by nature, and a control freak by trade, so opening up is hard.
But I really thought about it for the past couple weeks, and I realized that good things don't grow in the dark. They grow in the light!
And one of the things that I'm ready to see grow are my Mouse comics. I love them! And I know many others do too, so I've decided to create a separate space for the Mouse comics to flourish.
So at the suggestion of a few pollers, I have started a Patreon specifically for the Mouse.
It's right here.
My offerings in that space will be simple:
- Sketchbook access and behind the scenes content on comic creation. I have never just let the world see my sketchbooks and workflows, and I'm nervous and excited to open that door.
- Voting on new topics to explore in my comics! I want to make comics for you. Tell me what you want them made on.
- And finally, introducing Mouse Mail! A special 5"x7" print and sticker set that I'll send out each month that won't be available elsewhere.
And if you're a picture person instead of a words one (like me), here is a picture to describe what I hope Patreon can become:
Right now there is one completed comic on Patreon, a poll for a December comic, and a behind the scenes for a new one I'm tinkering with.
And if Patreon isn't for you, don't worry about it! All the completed Mouse comics will end up on social media for free eventually! This is an offering for those who want to see more and get involved in shaping it.
That's all for now!
Thanks again for your input and your support. I hope this new space can be one of connection and creativity.
More later,
